Are you interested in getting involved in the sport of bowls?
Why not try your hand at this fun and healthy sport which is played by all ages and levels of fitness. We also offer open days/evenings throughout the year so watch out for dates in the village journal or on our Facebook page.
All new members are encouraged to take part in our weekly coaching sessions, and are not expected to play until they feel confident enough to participate in our club triples leagues, or perhaps a friendly against a visiting team. As part of our offer we will put you in contact with a buddy at the club who will be around to offer guidance and support during your early days at the club.
As of 2024, membership fees are £110.00 per person with new members paying only £55.00 for their first year as well as receiving a free club shirt. Junior memberships are £20.00 per person and Social membership is also available at £10.00 per person.
Our annual membership entitles members to use the rink throughout the year, as well as covering entry costs into all club competitions. If you are new to the club, we offer a discounted rate for your first year. Between April and September we have a full season of league and cup matches, as well as playing friendlies with other local clubs and in-house club competitions which culminates in a fun finals weekend. Whilst there are plenty of matches to get involved in, it is your decision as to how much time you wish to invest and you will never be pressurised to participate.
We encourage spectators and regularly advertise our home matches so that residents know when we are about. We always like to ensure visitors enjoy themselves so there is always the offer of refreshments on hand. Non-members of the club can also book and use the rink for a small fee.
With a growing level of interest among younger village residents, we believe our club has a great future and will be actively fundraising and looking for new sponsorship over the coming years to support our growth.
